Love at First Touch

A gasp of breath caught in his throat as her hand brushed against his arm.
Her enchanting musical laughter proclaimed her feminine charm.
He trembled as she leaned to him to whisper in his ear
thunder roared in his head
but he couldn’t seem to hear.
The warmth of her promising smile melted his heart so cold
her splendor dazzled his cynic’s eyes and caused his shriveled soul to unfold.
She stood as though waiting for him

A Shoulder To Cry On

I get the strangest feelings,
like I don't know what is happening with me.
Confusion and worry torture me at times,
refusing to leave me to enjoy my love.

Is she being open and completely honest?
If something is wrong, will she tell me?
If she isn't, or won't then why?
Did I do something wrong?

If so please tell me, I need to know,
so that I can rectify any thing I did wrong.
If not then why won't she tell me,
is it me, and if not, then what?

I know that she loves me, she tells me herself,
and whenever she does, I know that it is true.
The warmth in her voice tells me,
the way the letters read tells me that I am loved.

I am loved by her, and I do love her too
she is my light and the one I live for.
But I need to be able to help
whenever she needs it.

But to be able to help, and show that I care,
I need to know that there is a problem.
So, my loved one, if ever you are down,
remember that I want to comfort you.

I will be there for you no matter what
there will be hard times, we know that already.
But together we have got through them,
as I believe we can overcome any obstacle in our way.

So my dearest, if nothing else remember this,
I will never leave you, that would be impossible for me,
and if ever you are worried or upset or lonely,
remember that I want you to cry on my shoulder.

I want to feel that I can help you more,
than simply by saying that I care.
I want to show you in ways that are indefinable,
that I love you with all my heart.

If you feel like the world is against you,

My head upon your chest I listen to your heart
A beautiful beating, living piece of art
I close my eyes in wonder, listening to your breathe
Knowing my very soul with you has inter-weaved

I caress your arms until I reach your sweet and funny face
I trace around your lips longing for their taste
Circling round your ears I outline your softened jaw
And finger the dimple in your chin- I stare at you with awe

I gently brush around your face to touch your wavy hair
With skin so fine and smile so sweet, to have you is not fair
I run my fingers through your locks then look at you and smile
But am glad you don’t respond, I want to admire you awhile

The smell of your cologne hangs deep around your being
I drink of its heavy spice and all loneliness begins its fleeing
I feel your skin next to mine and sense its strong and silent fire
And know within my heart of hearts that you are my desire

Suddenly, you shift, settling into the crease of the bed
I chuckle thinking I was caught but you do not raise your head
Instead you turn and tighten your grip around my giggling waist
You hold on tight as if in your dreams it was me you tried to chase

I lay back down and admire the quiet life that you are living
And smile at the love you’ve shared through your constant giving
One last look at your handsome face I lay back down into your arms
You’ve won me over heart and soul with your many charms

Lying next to you I stop and wonder at your very presence
What is so completely alluring about your settled essence
